Biography

Anooshe is a consultant and social commentator who regularly speaks at national security conferences and publishes on topics such as the prevention of violent extremism from the grassroots perspective, and the analysis of terrorist’s online propaganda. Anooshe has spoken and written extensively on the topic of building community resilience with a particular focus on social cohesion and its importance as a frontline measure in countering violent extremism.

Anooshe is a civil society member of the Attorney General’s Department’s Open Government Forum. She is participating in the development of the Third National Action Plan. She was a regular guest speaker at the Australian National University’s National Security College courses on Countering Violent Extremism and Counter Terrorism Anooshe Mushtaq – Policy Forum . Anooshe was a Lead Consultant to members of the Attorney General’s Department Countering Violent Extremism Services Panel.

Anooshe has 18 years of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) experience and has managed and maintained a range of relationships within the public and private sector. Anooshe has held senior roles in the private ICT sector with a track record in sales, management and consulting, and consistently delivering outstanding results for the Defence and Federal Government departments.

Anooshe is multilingual and is fluent in reading, writing, and communicating in English, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindko. She has good verbal communication proficiency in Hindi and good written communication proficiency in Arabic and Persian.
