Owen has had the benefit of a military career spanning some 25 years, providing him with formal training in operational design, management, and leadership. He is a graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, and has had a career leading groups of 10 to 450 people in support of domestic and overseas military operations. After his military career, he has worked in operations management, crisis, risk, and security operations management in support of the Australian Government in Afghanistan and Indonesia. He currently works for NIOA as the General Manager Operations, Australia and New Zealand. Owen lives with his family in Brisbane and is currently undertaking an MBA at the University Of Queensland, as a Wandering Warriors Scholarship recipient.
