Pierre is a senior security and risk leader who has served as Global Risk and Security Manager at Australian Volunteers International, providing leadership in risk, safety and security across the enterprise and global development programs, including DFAT funded programs. He was crisis coordinator for the AVI organisational response to COVID-19, including the global repatriation of hundreds of Australians within two weeks of Australia’s raised travel alert.
In previous roles with the Victorian at the Department of Justice and at Emergency Management Victoria, he project managed critical infrastructure resilience, including contributing to the development and implementation of Victoria’s critical infrastructure resilience arrangements, and associated machinery of government changes. He also served in a rostered capacity in the strategic risk and consequence unit at the State Control Centre, conducting analysis, preparing plans for complex emergencies, and supporting statutory roles and functions.
Prior to DOJ and EMV, he worked at the Victorian Department of Primary Industries with responsibilities for policy, regulatory and legislative processes across the energy and resources sectors, including implementation of reviews into major events such as the Yallourn Mine Collapse. He served on national cross-jurisdictional working groups for Land Access, Upstream Petroleum and Coal Seam Gas.
