Georgia is an Associate Consultant in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) at Mercury Information Security Services, where she’s quickly establishing herself in the security industry. With a Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies from Macquarie University, her journey into the field has been marked by determination and a proactive approach.
Georgia is deeply committed to involving the next generation in security, not just in cyber security but across the broader security landscape. She actively participates in discussions aimed at helping younger people overcome barriers to entering the industry and advocates for professionals to look beyond experience, emphasising the importance of investing in young talent as the future of the field.
Driven by a fascination with conflict and international security, Georgia is focused on enhancing national and cyber security. Even early in her career, she has demonstrated leadership potential through initiatives like transforming internal company systems. Her dedication to continuous learning is evident in her participation in CTF challenges with colleagues and her attendance at key industry events, including but not limited to BSides Adelaide (May 2024), BSides Singapore (September 2024), BSides Canberra (September 2024), and the Australian Cybersecurity Summit 2023 and 2024. Georgia is also actively engaged in professional organisations such as ASIS International NSW Chapter.
