Joe Saunders is an award-winning security and risk management professional with extensive experience consulting across a multitude of sectors, including government, passenger transport, aviation, education, NFP, and critical infrastructure. As a professional specialising in behavioural risk and the prevention of workplace violence, Joe’s mission extends beyond conventional security measures. He is committed to protecting people, processes, and assets against myriad threats, ensuring a secure and resilient organisational environment. Leading the Managing Violence Podcast, Joe has spent nearly four years at the confluence of knowledge and experience, curating the world’s premier repository of violence management wisdom by engaging with global experts in the field.

Joe also serves as the Head of the Threat Assessment & Management Special Interest Group for the Australian Security Research Centre. He is a globally recognised thought leader in workplace violence and the creator of the world’s first ISO 31000-aligned workplace violence prevention model. An engaging and entertaining facilitator, he has spoken at events worldwide, including the GSX Conference in the USA, on preventing and managing the risk of violence in workplaces and other settings. Joe has published articles in numerous journals and magazines globally on protective security and related topics.
