Natalie Pearse was appointed Director of the Protective Security Policy for the Australian Government in 2020.

Natalie joined the public service in 2000 and has worked in a wide range of national security roles, including in operations, intelligence and policy, both on and offshore.

Natalie and her section recently transferred from the Attorney-General’s Department to the Department of Home Affairs as part of a Machinery of Government change. This transfers supports the agreed roles and responsibilities for the Minister for Cyber Security, and the broader Commonwealth Cyber Security Uplift efforts.

Natalie is responsible for the policy development and implementation of the Protective Security Policy Framework. She also manages the Protective Security Board and the Government Security Committee which overseas coordination and delivery of protective security within all non-corporate Commonwealth entities within Australia.

PSG Conference 2024 aims to highlight the importance of working together across sectors and specialisations to address emerging challenges and enhance our nation’s security posture.
