Xiaoyan Lu is the Chief Strategist for Digital Uplift to the Auditor-General for New South Wales (NSW). A transformational leader with a proven track record in strategy development and operational excellence, Xiaoyan has been recognized for driving business transformation and innovation through data and technology, including AI.
Prior to joining the Audit Office of NSW, Xiaoyan served as Acting Group Executive Director of the Systems Assurance and Data Analytics Group at the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO), where she performed leadership roles as Audit Engagement Executive and a member of the Executive Board of Management. Before joining the ANAO in 2018, Xiaoyan spent 11 years at the Australian Sports Commission, where she led data-driven decision-making initiatives and successfully implemented a nationwide community sport research agenda.
Xiaoyan has volunteered as an Executive Mentor for the Australian Public Sector Women in IT Executive Mentoring Program, an Industry Mentor for the Australian National University, a Guest Lecturer at the University of Canberra, and an Industry Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney.
Xiaoyan holds a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics, a Master’s degree by research in Environmental Sciences, and a Bachelor’s degree in Science. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
